www.speed-images.co.uk was started about 4 years ago when a family friend offered to host a web site for me to promote my motorsport photography. Since then I have mainly covered club bike racing at various circuits in the country, but for the last 3 years I have concentrated on covering the Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Racing Championships at Darley Moor as well as the annual visit to The Isle of man for the TT races.
What drives us I aim to be able to supply high quality photographic images in many formats for a reasonable price. Images can also be supplied to local newspapers to give riders coverage and for them to possibly gain extra sponsorship from local companies. www.speed-images.co.uk also supplies images to Bike Sport News ( BSN ) , as well as my local newspaper The Crewe Chronicle. I have also supplied the images for www.bikeracing.net
People All of the images on www.speed-images.co.uk have been taken by myself , Chris Wood. I have a full time job in the Rail industry and run speed-images in my spare time. I live in Cheshire , near to Oulton Park ( where I spent most of my childhood) which is nice as I am only about an hours drive away from Donington Park , Mallory Park & Darley Moor. I started out as a child taking photos at Oulton Park car meetings but as I grew up a moved over to bikes and have covered mainly bikes for the last few years as well as some Drag Racing at Santa Pod Raceway.
Equipment
All of the images on this site have been taken using Canon DSLR camera's and Canon & Sigma lenses. For the last 4 years I have used a Canon EOS 10D but have recently upgraded to a Canon EOS 40D ready for the 2008 season.
